Popcorn Hour A-110 Networked Media Tank - End of production? UPDATED

Popcorn Hour A-110 Media Player

Popcorn Hour A-110 Media Player

Has the Popcorn Hour A-110 gone to heaven?

With the new Popcorn Hour C-200 coming to Media Players and More in July/August, Popcorn Hour seem to have converted their entire production facility over to the C-200 to cater for the demand for the Blu-Ray supported Media Player.

In the meantime they are not accepting any new wholesale orders for the Popcorn Hour A-110. Considering there is still a strong demand for the A-110, this may not have been the best decision.

Any press releases from Popcorn Hour clearly make note that the C-200 is not a replacement for the A-110 but the mind does wander……

This has meant we have sold out of the A-110 and unusually we don’t have a definite due date for any more A-110’s. I suspect it will be 3-4 months and possibly not till after Xmas 2009 if at all. UPDATE: Popcorn Hour have now accepted our orders and stock is due early August 2009 so pre-order the number 1 media player now - Popcorn Hour A-110

But there’s always alternatives, as it seems to be that this decision by Popcorn Hour has allowed the second highest selling Networked Media Tank - the HD Digitech HDX1000 to gain more momentum.

The HDX1000  features a built in card reader,  and extra audio output (coaxial) and a solidly built aluminium body designed to allow the unit to run cooler. It also support the Popcorn Hour A-110 firmware so with the HDX1000 you get the best of both worlds.

NEW Next Generation NMT Popcorn Hour C-200

Popcorn Hour C-200 New Model July 2009

Popcorn Hour C-200 New Model July 2009

Finally some details on the newest and most anticipated media player have started  be released on the Popcorn Hour C-200 Networked Media Tank.

I can confirm that Media Players and More has placed an initial order for a limited quantity of these and we are expecting them Early July 2009.

I have no idea on the pricing of the features, however I do believe they will be priced higher than the current Popcorn Hour A-110 units.

This new Popcorn Hour C-200 is not designed to replace the Popcorn Hour A-110 but it will be a premium product.
